Manager of Safety Workplace Safety Focus

Were looking for a proactive and collaborative Manager of Safety to lead the development and execution of workplace safety programs across all operations. In this role, youll create strategies that reduce risk, strengthen compliance, and promote the health and well-being of our employees, clients, and customers. Youll identify potential hazards, analyze safety data, and implement initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in safety performance.

Youll report to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and work closely with operational leaders, Risk Management, Human Resources, Legal, and other cross-functional partners to embed safety into our organizational culture.

What you'll be doing:

Leadership & Culture Building

  • Champion a proactive workplace safety culture across all business segments and locations.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Partner with operational and HR leadership to integrate safety into daily practices and performance expectations.

  • Provide safety leadership, coaching, and direction to frontline managers and employees.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable workplace safety regulations.

  • Lead and document incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Support company response to inspections, citations, and regulatory inquiries.

  • Conduct audits, safety assessments, and hazard analyses to mitigate risks across multiple sites.

Training & Development

  • Design and deliver engaging safety training and awareness programs for all employee levels.

  • Lead safety orientation for new employees and support safety readiness during contract mobilizations.

  • Collaborate with HR and Operations to ensure consistent understanding and adoption of safety protocols.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Monitoring

  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics (incidents, near misses, audit outcomes).

  • Identify trends and implement strategic initiatives to improve safety outcomes.

  • Work with insurance providers and external partners to access resources that enhance safety performance.

  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate and source appropriate safety equipment.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key advisor to CHRO and senior leadership on workplace safety strategy and risk.

  • Participate in client meetings, RFP responses, and business development efforts as needed.

  • Represent safety in cross-functional meetings and support alignment between safety, HR, operations, and compliance functions.

What we're looking for:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety regulations.

  • Proven experience managing safety across multiple sites in a dynamic operational environment.

  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and lead across departments.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Willingness to travel across sites and participate in in-person engagements.

  • Willing to pursue or support food safety knowledge development as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other BCSP designation.

  • Experience in industries such as food service, hospitality, or facilities management.

  • Familiarity with behavioral-based safety programs and employee engagement strategies.

Compensation Range

Compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience.
