Job Description
Glacier Fish Company LLC seeks Electrician in Seattle, WA.
Responsible for all electrical systems onboard including power generation systems, power distribution systems, engine room systems, switch boards, Programmable Logic Controls, fish processing systems, hotel systems, bridge systems and deck systems on a factory trawler. Troubleshoot electrical issues with factory trawler equipment and give recommendations for resolutions. Repair and replace wiring equipment and fixtures, using hand and power tools. Examine electrical system of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices including ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to confirm compatibility and safety of system. Inspect electrical systems, equipment or parts to spot hazards, defects or the necessity for adjustment or repair and to confirm compliance with applicable codes. Position may include additional duties that utilize the required skills. Must work onboard fishing vessel at sea or in port for at least 155 days per year fishing in Alaska's Bering Sea, and off the coast of Washington, and Oregon, and at unanticipated shipyards in Seattle, Washington, when not at sea or in port.
Full-time permanent positions based in Seattle, Washington. Multiple positions open.

Employees accrue Seattle Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) while working in Seattle during the shipyard yard period; 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
Requires three years of experience as a Marine Electrician, Electro-Technical Cadet, Electro-Technical officer, or related role, onboard a vessel and in a shipyard environment, which includes:
Maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment and sequential automated processing on vessels;
Operating and troubleshooting switchboards, power generators, Programmable Logic Controllers, as well as controls and navigation electronic equipment;
Diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components on vessels, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem; and
Inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and defects, and to ensure compliance with safety codes.
Must work onboard fishing vessel at sea or in port for at least 155 days per year fishing in Alaska's Bering Sea, and off the coast of Washington, and Oregon, and at unanticipated shipyards in Seattle, Washington, when not at sea or in port.
