$72.00 - $94.50/hr.
Summary:
Company is shaping the future of consumer electronics in the emerging Augmented and Virtual Reality industry, as well as Personal Communication and Social Connections via our game-changing Portal products. As a Color, Material, and Finish Designer on the RL Industrial Design team, you bring extensive knowledge of industry trends, forecasting, color development and management, and have the technical knowledge to translate a creative vision into production-ready materials and processes. You have a record of shipping successful products in the Consumer Electronics, Wearable Technology, Fashion, or Eyewear industries and are comfortable working collaboratively with cross-discipline teams and manufacturing partners. Your insights, creative input, and development efforts will help guide the unique style and distinctive look of our brand.
Responsibilities:
Interface with industry to research and develop proprietary and innovative hardware styles, construction details, material combinations, new production techniques, etc.
Assist in the continual gathering and sharing of trends in consumer electronics, eyewear and fashion markets
Create fully resolved CMF strategy for presentation to team members, partners and manufactures.
Assist in the resolution of design, prototyping and manufacturing issues during the development phase; create fully resolved solutions to communicate and resolve manufacturing and prototyping challenges
Manage and maintain CMF product specifications for products in development from concept to production
Qualifications:
Bachelors of Industrial Design from an accredited college or university, or relevant professional experience required
5+ years experience working as a CMF Designer/Developer
Proficiency in communicating design vision, and concepts using 2D color renderings and 2D CAD. 3D -CAD and visualization experience is a plus
Excellent organization skills, detail oriented, and has the ability to multitask across different projects and categories
Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, metal fabrication techniques, resin development, coating technologies, plastics decoration processes, fabrics and textiles
Occasional domestic and international travel is a requirement for this position

The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:
$72.00 - $94.50/hr
. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
