Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled welder capable of MIG welding and multitasking across various areas within our fabrication department. The ideal candidate will work from engineering drawings and Bill of Materials to fabricate and weld components, and must be able to adjust the welder as needed for varying thicknesses of steel. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding tasks efficiently. Operate welder, grinder, drill, and various hand/power tools. Utilize measuring devices accurately. Operate overhead crane and forklift, if certified. Work in either Panel Welding or Tank Welding departments, which require specific welding techniques. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience in fabrication processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications D1-1 certification required for Tank Welders; D1-3 certification is a bonus. Work Environment Work is conducted in a clean environment, with all necessary tools provided. Our facility operates during the summer with open doors to ensure comfort. Panel Welders are currently needed for the third shift, operating from 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM, with potential overtime until 4:30 AM. Tank Welders work in two shifts, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM, with overtime available. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, Illinois.
