The I&E Planner is responsible for the detailed planning and coordination of all instrumentation and electrical maintenance and project work. This role ensures that all I&E activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, facility procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:Develop detailed job plans and work packages for instrumentation and electrical maintenance and capital projects.
Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to identify scope and resource requirements.
Review work requests and determine job priority, scope, and required materials, labor, and tools.
Create and maintain accurate job plans using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle.
Generate schedules and coordinate with operations to minimize downtime.
Ensure availability of materials, equipment, and labor prior to job execution.
Maintain equipment records, drawings, and technical documentation.
Track job progress, update schedules, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and priorities.
Participate in root cause failure analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all work complies with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Engineering, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in I&E maintenance, with at least 2 years in a planning/scheduling role.
Strong knowledge of instrumentation and electrical systems, components, and practices.
Proficient in CMMS (SAP, Maximo, etc.) and MS Office Suite.
Understanding of P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical single-line drawings.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in oil & gas, chemical, or heavy industrial environments.
Familiarity with planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Certifications in maintenance planning (e.g., SMRP, PMP) are a plus.
