David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Boise, Idaho office and support our Inland Northwest Region clients. This role blends project leadership with technical excellence and team mentorship. You'll manage a wide range of survey projects and help ensure that DEA continues to deliver high-impact work on time and on budget.
DEA's Survey and Geomatics team is equipped with modern tools, including GPS, terrestrial laser scanning, mobile mapping systems, unmanned aerial systems, and hydrographic survey equipment. You'll have access to these resources to support a diverse portfolio of projects.
About the Role
As a Project Surveyor, you will guide the technical execution of projects ranging from boundary and topographic surveys to ALTA, right-of-way, and construction support. You'll work directly with clients, internal teams, and staff in the field and office to ensure deliverables meet expectations and promote professional growth throughout your team.
Key Responsibilities
Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets for a variety of survey projects
Perform research and calculations in multiple jurisdictions
Lead QA/QC for deliverables across boundary, control, and construction-related surveys
Build and maintain client relationships within the region
Coordinate with other DEA business units on integrated project delivery
Mentor and support field and office staff to advance their development within the profession
What You Bring
Idaho Professional Land Surveyor license, or ability to obtain within 1 year
Ability to independently manage projects and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Experience mentoring junior staff and directing technical work
Proficiency with CAD and land surveying software (e.g., Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads)
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Anticipated salary range: $110,000 to $125,000
The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
