Basic Job Functions:The role of the Staff Electrical Engineer is to assist in the maintenance and reliability of the electrical power system in the plant. This includes enhancements, engineering, and project work. The Staff Electrical Engineer should be capable of performing the duties of the Electrical Power Engineer within 5 years. The Staff Electrical Engineer may also assist in other projects in various areas of the facility. Able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including call ins.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent
- An accredited electrical degree or accredited electrical certification beyond High School OR equivalent experience/qualifications in electrical power or electrical maintenance field
- 4 year B.S.E.E. or similar
- Demonstrated aptitude to learn detailed knowledge of electrical power engineering
- Knowledge of and experience with mechanical principles
