Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Heavy Civil to lead and oversee the successful execution of complex heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of direct experience managing projects including (but not limited to) earthwork, underground utilities, site concrete, asphalt paving, and total roadway construction .
This role will be responsible for managing project teams, maintaining client relationships, ensuring financial targets are met, and upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction to closeout.
Direct project team including superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost control strategies.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage contract negotiations, change orders, and risk mitigation efforts.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to project teams.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects.
Proven experience in earthwork, utilities, site concrete, asphalt paving, and full roadway construction.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, HCSS HeavyJob, Primavera P6, MS Project) is preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
