Duties & Responsibilities- Designs, fabricates, joins and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Welds in controlled atmosphere, plasma welds, and cuts. elds high vacuum and high-pressure systems.
- Heat treats and thermosprays equipment, fixtures, and various types of metal objects and structures.
- Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools.
- Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments.
- Recommends supplies and materials to be ordered.
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Valid AZ driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy .
- Completion of an accredited welder's training program.
