Reports To: Senior Project Architect / Design Director
Position OverviewWe are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team in downtown Milwaukee. This role focuses on the design and development of commercial projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, mixed-use developments, and hospitality environments. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to help shape the urban landscape of Milwaukee through innovative and functional design solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop conceptual designs, schematic layouts, and detailed construction documents for commercial projects
- Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of design and construction
- Conduct site analysis, zoning research, and feasibility studies to inform design decisions
- Prepare presentations and visualizations using tools such as SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, ADA standards, and sustainability guidelines
- Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and coordination sessions with engineers and contractors
- Support project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, and documentation
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- 25 years of professional experience in architectural design, preferably in commercial projects
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; Rhino and Enscape experience a plus
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Milwaukees urban context and regulatory environment is preferred
- LEED accreditation or progress toward licensure is a plus
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
