Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to be based in Indianapolis, Indiana .

This position is expected to begin in June2026.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the structural analysis and preparation of design calculations.
  • Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans.
  • Prepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
  • Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (highway, traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
  • Create new and better ways to solve clients toughest challenges through a strong commitment to innovation.
  • Always strive to give clients the best solutions and remain client focused.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity by always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with a focus on Structures (bridges).
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree focus on bridges or structures.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
  • Strong technical and communication skills with a commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO and INDOT design and standards.
  • Computer skills desired include Finite Element Software, Bridge Design Software, Microsoft Office, and Computer Aided Drafting - preferably MicroStation.
  • Progress toward professional licensure.
