Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee facility upkeep, safety, and operational reliability at our high-volume production site. This role will lead a team of 40 janitorial staff and 10 facilities maintenance technicians, ensuring the plant environment is clean, safe, and fully functional. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in craft management, timekeeping systems, workplace safety programs, and general construction practices.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Direct, supervise, and develop the janitorial and facilities maintenance teams.
  • Plan and assign daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions to drive team engagement and productivity.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and coverage for all shifts.

Facilities & Maintenance Oversight

  • Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and repair work for building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural).
  • Coordinate and monitor janitorial services to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
  • Manage contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and construction projects.

Craft & Construction Management

  • Lead small-scale construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure work meets code compliance and internal quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Operational & Administrative Duties

  • Track work orders, labor hours, and inventory using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or equivalent tools.
  • Manage department budget, control costs, and approve purchase orders.
  • Prepare maintenance activity reports and present findings to senior management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in craft supervision, timekeeping, and safety program implementation.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and general construction practices.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or high-volume production environment.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site position within an active production facility.
  • Requires walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Will require availability during off-hours for emergencies.
