Description
Overview:
\nWe are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Paint Supervisor with a strong background in auto body painting techniques, exceptional leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the painting process, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and maintaining efficiency within the department while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:
\n\n
\n\t
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of prep, caulk, and paint technicians to ensure consistent quality and productivity.\n\t
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment while maintaining a strong attendance record.\n\t
- Develop and train team members, ensuring backup personnel are prepared for key roles.\n\t
- Promote teamwork and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.\n

Paint Process Oversight:
\n\n
\n\t
- Supervise all aspects of the painting process, from surface preparation to final topcoat application, ensuring adherence to company schedules, industry best practices, and quality standards.\n\t
- Monitor workflow efficiency, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to optimize production output.\n
\n\n
Quality Control & Color Matching:
\n\n
\n\t
- Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces to ensure uniform color, texture, and overall finish quality.\n\t
- Identify and address imperfections, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.\n\t
- Utilize advanced color-matching techniques and equipment to achieve accurate finishes based on manufacturer specifications and customer expectations.\n

Equipment & Inventory Management:
\n\n
\n\t
- Oversee the maintenance and functionality of paint booths, spray guns, compressors, and related equipment.\n\t
- Manage paint and supply inventory to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing waste and costs.\n
\n\n
Safety & Compliance:
\n\n
\n\t
- Enforce strict safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.\n\t
- Identify and address potential safety hazards, ensuring all incidents are thoroughly investigated and corrective measures are implemented.\n
\n\n
Process Improvement & Documentation:
\n\n
\n\t
- Continuously evaluate and enhance painting processes, techniques, and equipment to improve efficiency and quality.\n\t
- Track and coordinate rework and missing parts in an effective and timely manner.\n\t
- Maintain accurate documentation of paint mix formulas, color codes, film builds, and other relevant data to ensure consistency in future projects.\n

Qualifications & Requirements:
\n\n
Experience & Skills:
\n\n
\n\t
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in automotive or industrial painting, with a strong track record of high-quality finishes.\n\t
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.\n\t
- Extensive knowledge of auto body painting techniques, application methods, and different types of paints, primers, and coatings.\n\t
- Experience with bed lining applications is a plus.\n\t
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot painting-related issues and make real-time decisions.\n\t
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with team members, management, and other departments.\n\t
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.\n

Education & Certifications:

\n\t
- High school diploma or equivalent required.\n\t
- Formal training in auto body painting techniques is preferred.\n\t
- Certification in automotive painting or a related field is a plus.\n
\n\n
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.\n\t
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects, including paint cans and equipment.\n
