DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Duties and responsibilities of an Event Services Operations Staff person are varied and diverse, all contributing to the safe operation of all equipment, and safe, efficient and effective operation of the Farm Show Complex. In this position, you will exercise safe and structured operation of all equipment and play an active role in helping to setup, maintain, and tear down stages, props, and necessary equipment for the various types of events held at the complex. You will also maintain complex grounds and facility buildings with regards to equipment operations, trash and custodial functions, general maintenance and grounds keeping, and snow removal. Some specific equipment that may be used includes forklifts, dump trucks, farm tractors, sweepers, boom lifts, snowplows, and mowers. The ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate with a team is essential in order to meet strict deadlines and ensure for a seamless transition from event to event.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift differential is $1.25 per hour), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
