Qualifications: Master's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation Requires 6 months of experience in each of the following: 1. Applied research and/or product development 2. Digital system design, including at least one consumer product shipped 3. Microprocessor and memory architectures 4. Knowledge of industry trends and disruptive technologies 5. Knowledge of methods for partitioning a solution across hardware and software, analogue and digital, and other multi-disciplinary boundaries in a system solution 6. Experience with SOCs, display engineering, Verilog/FPGAs, uControllers, and firmware 7. Experience with high speed interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, MIPI 8. Analyzing cache coherency protocols and architectures 9. Experience as a team lead or manager 10. Circuit design experience in: high speed digital and/or analog circuits, AND 11. High-speed digital experience
Responsibilities: Support the development of our next-generation consumer product platforms that will provide breakthrough simulated reality user experiences. Lead Facebook's efforts to design/architect the hardware platforms for this activity and will be part of a team that includes electrical, mechanical, optical, firmware, software and ASIC experts. Understand the full stack from algorithms and architecture down to drawing polygons. Appreciate DFT/DFM and will ensure that custom silicon does not dominate COGs in the final products. Have experience in overseeing a small silicon team.
