Platt's Welding and Construction is looking for an Experienced Welder who is able to wear many hats.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding and Fabrication:
Perform Stick welding on a variety of materials and thicknesses.
Fabricate metal parts, brackets, frames, and custom components using cutting, grinding, and bending equipment.
Position, align, and fit components for welding.
Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify and correct defects, ensuring quality standards are met.
Perform weld repairs or modifications as necessary to meet product specifications.
General Maintenance and Repair:
Assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, and machinery.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, adjusting, and lubricating equipment.
Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and facilities in a clean and proper working condition.
Identify, report, and correct potential safety hazards within the work environment.
Shop Operations and Teamwork:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Potentially operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move machinery and materials.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proficiency in Stick Welding techniques and equipment.
Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Experience in metal fabrication, including cutting, grinding, and shaping various metals.
Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail, precision, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Good physical stamina and ability to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching, working at heights, in confined spaces, and adverse weather conditions).
Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time efficiently.
