Slitting Machine Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Slitting Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate and monitor advanced machinery, ensuring precision and efficiency in production processes. This role is essential to maintaining the quality and timeliness of our products. Responsibilities Operate and monitor the slitting machine, ensuring optimal performance. Load and unload machinery with the product. Conduct visual inspections to ensure quality standards are met. Perform light troubleshooting and maintenance as needed. Execute basic setup procedures and manage heavy lifting of rolls. Work directly from a work order, accurately reading part numbers and setting materials, cut timing, and cut type. Use a ruler and basic hand tools, demonstrating proficiency with standard tools. Cross-train on various machines to enhance operational flexibility. Essential Skills Strong mechanical aptitude is crucial. Ability to read a ruler and utilize basic hand/power tools. Keen attention to detail for conducting thorough visual inspections. Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to cross-train. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of experience in machine operation is desirable. Experience in troubleshooting and setup processes. Familiarity with slitting, cutting, coating, and printing processes. Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, and blueprints is a plus. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McHenry, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
