Job Summary: Description

The Load Builder/Forklift Operator are responsible for building and delivering loads that are safely and efficiently built, with accuracy to meet our customers' expectations and satisfaction in mind. This full-time position is also responsible for receiving and stocking inventory as needed. The load builder assists other employees in filling orders for walk in customers as well. The Loader Builder directly reports to the yard manager. They interact daily with the store inventory and receiving personnel, Inside Sales, Customer Service Employees, Truck Drivers and Delivery personnel. Our client is the locally based home building and home repair supply store for professionals and homeowners alike in Prineville. They rely on our experienced staff working directly with our customers and community to be a valuable source of homebuilding supplies and materials.

Responsibilities

Build safe and efficient building materials by correctly reading "pick tickets" and invoices.

Read SKUs and identify material types to accurately build loads.

Load and off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift.

Complete inventory adjustments.

Put stock away.

Tag loads.

Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations.

Open and close yard as needed.

Keep the forklift clean.

Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy.

Maintain yard cleanliness during the course of work.

Know product substitutions, share that knowledge, and always apply the knowledge to building the load.

Cross train as backup driver, receiver, counter sales, and dispatcher if needed.

Proactively seek to learn products and applications for the end user.

Regularly attend product knowledge meetings.

Understand weight limits and length limits for the company's fleet of trucks to safely and lawfully load trucks.

Wear proper high visibility and safety gear.

Safely operate equipment and always honks horn and looks before backing or rounding blind corners.

Perform daily safety audits of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment.

Participate in safety committee when necessary.

Review and completes Hold Harmless form with customers.

The load builder primarily works outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard.

Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet.

Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary.

Both local and overnight travel may be required.

Ability to cover different shifts when necessary.

Qualifications/Skills

Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.

OSHA Certified Forklift License

Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 per Hour Depending on Experience
