This position provides supervision, guidance, support, and limited administration to a group of HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanics in the performance of their journeyman level job assignments.

Four years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:

• Oversees the installation, repair, alteration, maintenance, and control of refrigeration, heating, ventilating, and cooling systems.
• Oversees the installation, diagnosis, repair, and adjustment on all control meter instruments involved in large areas or equipment heating and cooling.
• Prepares cost estimates of jobs according to labor and material requirements.
• Updates and maintains records on all projects and control systems.

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or Promotion of a permanent, classified Louisiana State EMPLOYEE

• Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
• An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
• This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.

Compensation: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and NOT the amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
