The Electrician performs general repairs and installation of electrical equipment, light fixtures, lighting systems, and food service equipment. General knowledge and well-rounded experience with plumbing, emergency generators, HVAC systems' and refrigeration is necessary. This position will need to maintain and continue their knowledge of new lighting and energy management technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position at any time.

Install, modify, trouble shoot and repair all electrical components (light fixtures, plugs, etc.) and systems to comply with National Electric Code and/or Southern Building Code, OSHA regulations and applicable industry standards.

Calculate electrical loads and consumption

Accomplish equipment or material take-offs from schematics and/or blueprints.

Document repairs and work order request forms.

Initiate material request forms.

Perform regularly assigned Maintenance departmental manager on duty shifts

All other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Must read, write and speak the English language

Must be at least 18 years old

Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers

Must be able to comply with all state, federal and OSHA safety regulations

Must be able to read and understand construction drawings, schematics, and other specifications

Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment i.e, multimeter

Must be able to diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as motors, transformers, lighting fixtures and have a general understanding of other building systems

Must be able to quickly calculate electrical loads, costs, and make recommendations

Must be familiar with lighting upgrades and new technology initiatives

Must be familiar with alarm and low voltage systems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School or Technical education preferred

Minimum of five years electrical experience in commercial/residential settings required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have and maintain a Georgia Driver's License

Non-restricted Georgia Electrical License required
