Construction Operations Manager

The Director of Operations position oversees management of all United Mechanical Construction operations, to ensure the most cost-effective manner within quality standards.
This position shall incorporate the United Mechanical Vision and Business Strategy by providing Proactive World Class Service to the markets served, based on Profitability, Credibility, Employee Base Environment, Customer Service and Quality.
Set the standards of excellence be welcoming, friendly, empathetic, responsive, and effectively communicate the Presidents Vision for growth and team excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Provide proactive, effective leadership through direct oversight and active engagement across all operational areas.

2.Develop and implement strategies to drive substantial, profitable growth at both local and regional levels.

3.Identify and develop product portfolios, programs, and initiatives that support the companys profitable growth.

4.Design and execute strategies to improve and standardize operational processes across the organization.

5.Analyze operations to improve efficiency and achieve strategic financial goals and objectives.

6.Implement, manage, and enhance operational procedures in alignment with company standards and applicable regulations.

7.Proactively oversee operational budgets, financial results, and production metrics, making necessary adjustments to optimize performance.

8.Maintain the financial health of all construction teams through disciplined fiscal management.

9.Review financial data to prioritize staffing, allocate resources, and align operational objectives.

10.Monitor and report on operating costs within functional areas. Notify executive leadership of cost or labor overruns, and recommend and implement corrective actions.

11.Ensure all projects are completed to specification and meet established quality standards.

12.Lead regular meetings with Project Managers, Field Managers, and estimating teams.

13.Advise managers on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, and grievances. Ensure consistent, fair application of company policies by all supervisors.

14.Hire, train, and evaluate staff effectively. Take timely corrective action when necessary, in consultation with Human Resources and in accordance with company policy.

15.Review and advise on RFIs, submittals, change orders, project budgets, schedules, purchase orders, and invoices across multiple large-scale projects, as needed.

16.Prepare monthly Estimated Cost at Completion (ECAC) reports.

17.Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational success.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1.Must have working knowledge of mechanical plan and spec and design/build industry.
2.Computer literacy including strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet research, and other software applications.
3.Must have excellent organization skills.
4.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
5.Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
6.Must be a team player and self-starter.
7.Ability to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
TRAVEL
This position requires weekly travel to customers, engineers, and job sites. Regional travel will also be required, including working at off-site promotional events, conferences, and trade shows. Company vehicle will be provided subject to driving record.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The employee must be available to work Monday through Friday and must work 40 hours each week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

1.Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
2.Helps team members achieve job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
3.Evaluates team member job performances
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must have the ability to spend extended periods of time using a computer; must be capable of lifting 30 lbs. on occasion; must have the ability to navigate freely at job sites under construction to attend progress meetings, review progress of construction, etc.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1.Bachelors degree in construction management or similar field.
2.Minimum 5+ years as a manager in the commercial mechanical construction industry.
