Cable Technician

Our client is seeking a Cabling Technician to run cabling and help install rooftop infrastructure for equipment. The end clients could be Commercial, MDU, Retail, Warehouse and various other types of facilities. Looking for a hard working and reliable individual who has flexibility to work locally and other markets as needed. Someone will need to be comfortable with hand tools, collaborating with a team and heights working on rooftops. This individual will need to be willing to learn. Key Responsibilities: -Install Cradlepoint routers and run Ethernet and grounding cables from rooftop to management office. -Build and mount masts for rooftop equipment. -Route cables through HVAC service boxes and ceiling spaces. -Perform site inventory and basic troubleshooting. -Replace external components as needed. -Partner with experienced techs until ready to work independently. -Travel to sites across Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana (mileage reimbursed). -Participate in weekly scheduling and site planning with team leads. Comfortable working on rooftops and in tight ceiling spaces. Willing to learn and follow safety protocols. Able to work in pairs and eventually solo. Former military service is a strong plus. Must be located within 15-20 minutes of other techs for efficient dispatching (Peoria, Champaign, or Bloomington) Skills Cabling, Cable installation/test/termination/pulling, Low voltage, Rack and stack, Wireless access points, Access Control, Coax, CCTV, AC power, Wiring, Fiber optic cable, Blueprint Reading, Conduit Experience Level Entry Level
