Support the purchasing function and will carry out a variety of tasks and functions in support of the product line. Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels, inventory mix, and overall efficiency and profitability of the product line.

What you will be responsible for\:

  • Assist directors overseeing purchasing in preparing short and long-term plans for the purchasing team.
  • Assist directors with proposal reviews, price negotiations, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, and ensure necessary records are maintained.
  • Manage any escalations from Buyers as it relates to terms and conditions of the suppliers contract and services and escalates when required, to Directors.
  • As a People Leader, responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to their team, creating a safe atmosphere for the team and manage employee performance.
  • Direct and develop staff to achieve business objectives in fiscal year plan.
  • Recommend enhancements to systems and processes.
  • Work with team to prepare reports for operational and customer program reviews.
  • Work to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
  • Coordinate logistics for transport and customs, establish delivery schedules, enforce fulfillment of contracts and communicate with customers and suppliers to solve problems.
  • Communicate with project managers and customer representatives.

What you need to be successful in your role\:

  • Training in procurement management considered an asset
  • Experience in the aeronautics field an asset
  • Ability to read, Illustrated Parts Catalogue ’s and other technical document considered an asset
  • Practical knowledge of project management considered an asset
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aviation experience preferred
  • PC literate (Word, Excel, Access)
