Job Summary:

The Metal Fabricator / Assembler / CAD Designer is responsible for both the fabrication and assembly of aluminum structures and the design and production of detailed CAD drawings to support manufacturing. This hands-on role includes creating and interpreting CAD drawings, operating shop tools and equipment, and assembling finished parts with precision and efficiency.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, experienced with CAD software, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a production environment. This role is essential to supporting the quality, consistency, and efficiency of our manufactured solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CAD Design & Drafting
    • Produce detailed 2D and/or 3D CAD drawings for fabrication and assembly.
    • Modify or create designs to meet customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
    • Ensure all drawings are accurate, clear, and complete for production use.
    • Maintain organized digital drawing files and revision histories.
    • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop manufacturable solutions.

  • Metal Fabrication & Assembly
    • Cut aluminum stock to length using large saws and precision cutting tools.
    • Precision fully automatic saw system
    • Jet Drill/mill for precision drilling
    • Drill, tap, and deburr materials as needed.
    • Hand tapping with pneumatic drilling
    • Assemble components to match CAD design specifications using appropriate tools and fasteners.
    • Ensure final assembly quality aligns with customer and engineering requirements.

  • Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation
    • Read, interpret, and create CAD drawings and technical blueprints.
    • Identify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications from prints.
    • Review and improve designs for manufacturability.

  • Tool & Equipment Operation
    • Operate hand tools, drill press, chop saw, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Collaboration & Process Improvement
    • Communicate with engineers and project managers to clarify designs and resolve discrepancies.
    • Recommend improvements in fabrication techniques or tooling for efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in fabrication, assembly, machining, or design/drafting roles.
  • Proficiency in creating, reading, and interpreting technical drawings using CAD software (required).
  • Experience with common CAD tools (e.g., SolidEdge, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Experience operating saws, drill presses, and hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Forklift certification (preferred but not required).

Position Details

Location: Wheat Ridge, Colorado
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Travel: Possible for manufacture training
Work Environment: In-shop, hands-on production setting
