Equipment Operator

Rate of pay: $17.68 hr.

Shift: Typical week 8 am-5 pm M-F, nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed, rotating on-call

Duties:

Drive and operate dump trucks, haul trucks, and trailers.

Operate a loader, backhoe, and forklift to load and unload materials and equipment.

Keep the truck clean and in safe operating condition.

Assist crews in repairing, maintaining, and installing water and sewer systems.

Assist crews with manual labor as needed.

Cut concrete, ductile iron, PVC, clay, and cast-iron pipes.

Pour and finish concrete.

Lay, haul, and finish asphalt.

Operate jackhammer, power tools, hand tools, etc.

Respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes after regular working hours.

On-call rotation.

Must be able to work in inclement weather.

Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.

Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods.

Required experience:

Must have a high school diploma or GED plus at least six (6) months of college and technical or vocational education. Must have a minimum of six

months of relevant experience. Must have a valid Class "B" Commercial Driver's license with a clear driving record.
