Key Responsibilities:
- Assist skilled masons in the construction, repair, and restoration of structures made of brick, block, and stone.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
- Load and unload construction materials and move them to work areas.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and mortar.
- Operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks.
- Measure and cut materials to specified dimensions.
- Assist in aligning, positioning, and securing materials during installation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Comply with safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe worksite.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support construction activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or masonry is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills.
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with team members.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions.
