Janitorial Supervisor (Heavy Industrial Plant)

Location: Wilson, NC

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Janitorial Supervisor to manage the industrial team and general upkeep of our heavy-duty manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment. This role is critical to our plant's overall safety and operational efficiency and requires a supervisor who can effectively lead a team on the plant floor.

Shift:

• First Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Core Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, train, and direct a team of custodians/janitors. Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed to a high standard of safety and quality.

• Industrial Housekeeping: Oversee all janitorial duties in the mixing department, including sweeping, operating industrial floor scrubbers, floor scrapper, managing industrial waste disposal, and maintaining production support areas.

• Plant Safety & Order: Ensure floors, walkways, and work areas are kept clear and free of hazards. Enforce all plant safety rules, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures when the team must clean in or around operational machinery.

• Supply & Equipment Management: Manage the inventory of all cleaning supplies and maintain janitorial equipment in good working order.

• Facility Support: Conduct regular inspections of your team's work to ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, professional manner.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience leading a janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping team in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy commercial (e.g., large warehouse, distribution center) environment. THIS MUST BE ON YOUR RESUME WHEN APPLYING!

• Experience operating and training others on industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., walk-behind or riding floor scrubbers).

• Must be capable of consistently lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs in a physically demanding role.

• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and background screening.

• Working knowledge of industrial safety protocols is highly preferred.
