The Cable Technician will support CFI's properties and facilities by installing, repairing, and maintaining structured cabling systems including voice, data, and video networks. This is a short-term contract role (36 months) to assist with ongoing projects and ensure infrastructure is operating efficiently and meets safety and quality standards.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Cable Technician to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a problem-solving attitude, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position may require working in various environments, including residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot cable systems, including broadband, video, and voice communications.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the best installation routes and methods.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to coordinate installation schedules and address customer concerns.
  • Document all work performed, including customer interactions, equipment used, and any issues encountered.
  • Respond to service calls and provide timely resolution to cable-related problems.
  • Ensure proper handling and installation of cable and associated hardware.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Cable Technician or similar role in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong understanding of cable installation practices, fiber optics, and networking equipment.
  • Familiarity with cable testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
