Engineering Technician

Join a dynamic team as an Engineering Technician and contribute to groundbreaking projects within the construction industry. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering or geology, along with ACI certification. You will engage in field and laboratory testing, ensuring the quality and safety of construction materials while working closely with project managers and client representatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding site requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further analysis.
• Prepare and submit data and observations in both written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards at all times.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results, discussing accuracy with the Project Manager.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
• Participate in progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.

• Civil engineering degree or Geology degree.
• ACI certification for testing.
• Experience with construction materials such as concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, and steel.
• Proficiency in using nuclear gauges and conducting construction inspections.

• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data reporting.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, New Jersey.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
