What We OfferThe City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization between $145,000- $165,000 /annually, based on experience and education. The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work on-site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position, you can expect to work 3-5 days per week on-site. Off-site work must be conducted within the state of Colorado. This role is eligible for hybrid work, including reporting to the Denver International Airport office instead of the DEN World Port offices, and working remotely. We are seeking two Senior Project Managers, specifically in these roles you will:
Position 1:
The Special Projects division at Denver International Airport is responsible for delivering complex and multi-phased Capital Improvement Programs, which the portfolio currently includes the Great Hall Terminal Renovation, Baggage Handling System Modernization and Recapitalization, Consolidated Rental Car Facility, and the North Terminal Expansion. These mega projects are critical in supporting future passenger growth at one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. The Special Projects Division is seeking a Senior Design Manager to perform oversight and advise on professional service deliverables, collaborate and manage the design through construction, and provide Project Management support services where needed. This includes monitoring programmatic and project-level scopes, budgets, and schedules in conjunction with construction progress and program budgets for multiple programs. The position will interact with contractors and designers, construction and design project managers, D EN Planning and Design, DEN Operations, DEN Business Technologies, and any other affected DEN divisions and Airlines as needed. This position will report directly to the Design Integration Director for Special Projects Division
In this role, you will contribute to DENs success through the following job responsibilities:
Support the Design Integration Director in leading and managing the design and integration for large, high-profile infrastructure projects, which may include but are not limited to:
Represent the divisions positions, initiatives, and interests with a focus on delivering superior customer service.
Ensures staff is sufficiently knowledgeable and dynamic regarding customer service protocols and performance expectations.
Manage phased outcomes and comment resolution process for projects managed by the division and provide oversight/input into engineering and architectural design.
Provide owner comments on design review and owner collaboration for design packages as required to issue to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for permitting and contractor bidding/pricing.
Manage and review budgets, schedules, work plans, cost estimates, projections, and contracts.
Assist in the development and evaluate design concepts in collaboration with the Architect/ Engineers of record regarding planning, development, and design options for consideration in support of the overall vision and mission of the Airport.
Assist in the management of a design team and oversee contractor design to ensure integration of DEN stakeholder requirements, DEN design standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements as appropriate.
As assigned, provide expert advice on project and design matters to internal and external stakeholders.
Coach, mentor, develop, and challenge staff. Champion continuous improvement, including devising new strategies and new opportunities. Help set performance standards for the division and ensure operations achieve or exceed performance metrics. Implement management initiatives that impact operations; advocate and defend final decisions.

Experience reviewing and managing schedules
Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines
Knowledge of architectural building systems including MEP, low voltage, and special systems.
Knowledge of DBC, IBC & Accessibility Codes
Construction Administration experience
Position 2:
The Special Projects Division is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee construction activities within the Special Projects division. The Senior Project Manager will provide direction, facilitation, subject matter expertise, proficiency with issue resolution, and a relationship-oriented approach to aid in the success of the program. The Senior Project Manager will focus on construction management documentation, contractor performance measurement and reporting on the status of compliance in the areas of project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and risk.
In this role, you will contribute to DENs success through the following job responsibilities:
Daily and main point of contact for the project assigned
Monitoring Project and Cost Loaded Schedules
Manage coordination between contractor, airport operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders to mitigate operational or customer impacts
Coordinate with contractors and City & County of Denver Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) on upcoming work
Oversight of design development and transition to construction documents
Review and approve monthly contractor invoices and payment requests
Review and approve change order requests for legitimacy and cost reasonableness
Assist DEN management in contract task order initiation, reviews and negotiations
Participate in design/constructability reviews and coordination meetings
Assist in RFI & submittal review/response
Monitor commissioning process and coordinate with commissioning agent
Manage project closeout process
Development/Input on risk matrix (internal to DEN)
Review of DEN Standards and Technical Specifications to prepare for design reviews
Manages safety and inspection personnel
Monitors contractor's construction activities to ensure construction document conformance
Monitors contractor performance activities and deliverables to ensure contract compliance
What Youll Bring

Required Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of professional project management experience in the related occupational group including planning, managing, and scheduling projects and preparing and reviewing contract documents.
Education and Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Licensure & Certification: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
