We're seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our design team. You'll be assigned to our offices in Greenville, SC, Appleton, WI or other US based JACOBS office.

As a Career Mechanical Engineer within our Advanced Facilities team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing advanced manufacturing facilities. You'll impact the world around you by solving real-life challenges in the chemical, heavy industrial, and pulp and paper industries while helping clients capitalize on emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, develop, design, and select required equipment, power controls, piping, structures, and earthwork for commercial and industrial purposes
  • Lead mechanical engineering aspects of complex facility design projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and scientists to develop innovative solutions
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions
  • Create and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Interface with clients to understand requirements and present engineering solutions
  • Conduct site assessments and field investigations as needed
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and
  • 10+ years of progressive work experience in a Mechanical Engineering role in an EPC environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in equipment specification, and utility systems across multiple markets ( Life Science, Metals, Chemicals, Mining, Advance Technologies)
  • Proficiency with engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Strong project management capabilities including outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Strong experience in material handling and bulk material handling design and specifying.
  • Experience with clean room design and/or advanced manufacturing environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Inventor

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

120,400.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

158,025.00

The base salary range for this position is $120,400.00 to $158,025.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
