What you'll do as an Engineering Supervisor You will oversee design engineers in support of Telecommunications Engineering projects. You will assist the engineering Senior Manager with daily operations of the department. You will oversee the activities of remote personnel who are responsible for planning and design of new conduit and cable routes. You will work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with the common interest of delivering results to the customer. You will engage daily with the engineering team, project management staff and the construction team via emails / phone and potentially in person meetings. You will perform other engineering related duties to support business needs and as assigned by direct manager. You will assist with the development and supervise the day-to-day execution of plans supporting the organization's long-term engineering strategy. You will benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of Engineering practices and procedures within the organization. You will partner with senior Engineering leadership to create and implement day to day technology solutions to business problems. You will assist with developing business case justifications, cost/benefit analyses and budget for Engineering spending and initiatives. You will manage vendor contracts to ensure compliance. You will stay abreast of latest developments, techniques, and changes in the laws pertaining to the areas of responsibility and ensure organizational compliance. You will work closely with business unit leaders to improve the reliability and effectiveness of Engineering practices throughout the company. You will manage, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure the organization's Engineering activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards. What you'll need To be 18 years of age or older Authorization to work in the United States for this company Have 5+ years of OSP Engineering Experience Have a working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices, and regulations pertaining to the engineering of fiber optic outside plant facilities Have knowledge of aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements Be familiar with general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agencies Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation or similar CAD drafting software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Google Suite (Gmail, Google Earth, Docs, Sheets, Slides) applications Have strong organizational skills Have effective communication skills Have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Why work with us Your career here is more than just a job - it's your pathway to opportunity.
