The Project: Mace North America is seeking a talented Senior Cost Consultant for Life Science and Industrial and Manufacturing projects. In this pivotal role you'll have the opportunity to work directly with clients delivering iconic major capital projects.

Provides cost management services from inception to completion for ongoing and new commissions in various sectors.
Responsible for (area/discipline/specialism), using advanced technical capabilities/discipline expertise.
You'll Be Responsible For:
- Accountable for feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.
- Utilising expertise and applies the value management techniques at the outset of a project.
- Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
- Contributing to the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including prequalification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
- Supervising the preparation of the contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties.
- Advising on administration of the terms of the building contract.
- Accountable for the measurement of valuations of the work carried out and ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
- Ensuring adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract and the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
- Identifying all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges.
- Overseeing and engages in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
- Providing comprehensive advise on the issuing of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals.
- Advising on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
- Managing team of cost consultants, providing guidance, direction and coaching and performance management.
- Delivering improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
- Providing mentoring/training to members of the team.
- Sharing technical/functional/domain expertise to upskill capabilities. Develops and maintains a series of both internal and external relationships.
- Identifying and implements continuous improvement plans/identifies key business improvements.
- Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You'll Need To Have:
- A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
- Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent).
- Detailed knowledge of most forms of contract.
- Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role.
- Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s.
- Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction.
- Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.
You'll Also Have:
- Highly advanced level of commercial awareness, consulting and strategic acumen.
- Demonstratable track record in operational management of service delivery.
- Highly advanced understanding of wider management principles and techniques
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Substantial experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in more than one/several sector.
- Property or infrastructure project management expertise.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
- Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
