Precision Sheet Metal and Warehouse Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Precision Sheet Metal and Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our precision sheet metal fabrication and warehouse departments. The ideal candidate will ensure production efficiency, maintain high-quality standards, and manage inventory and shipping/receiving processes while leading a team of skilled workers.

Key Responsibilities:

Sheet Metal Fabrication Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of sheet metal workers involved in cutting, forming, punching, welding, and assembling precision sheet metal components.
  • Ensure all fabrication processes (cutting, forming, punching, welding, etc.) meet quality standards and production deadlines.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide production activities.
  • Monitor and maintain production schedules, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal workflow.
  • Conduct quality checks and coordinate with the QA department to resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of fabrication equipment as needed.
  • Assign jobs to employees and monitor production workflow to meet delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production planning teams to resolve technical issues or bottlenecks

Warehouse Supervision:

  • Supervise warehouse staff involved in inventory control, shipping, receiving, and material handling.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and labeling of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and warehouse procedures.

Leadership & Communication:

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of fabrication and warehouse employees.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, and production departments for workflow alignment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Enforce company policies and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in precision sheet metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, machinery, and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems and warehouse management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, production software, etc.).
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift certification.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
  • OSHA safety training or certification.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality systems.
