Piper Companies is seeking a Scheduler/Study Coordinator II to join a leading preclinical research organization located in Muskegon, MI. The Scheduler II will play a critical role in planning, directing, and coordinating study schedules, managing contractor resources, and ensuring optimal utilization of laboratory resources. This position is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in a scientific or preclinical environment.
Responsibilities of the Scheduler/Study Coordinator II Include:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate scheduling activities for laboratory studies in accordance with protocols and SOP requirements.
- Maintain and update study schedules and calendars to ensure timely execution of projects.
- Coordinate and schedule animal deliveries, including procurement of animals and related supplies.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding animal availability, room allocation, and resource management.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize laboratory and room efficiency.
- Review study protocols and assess scheduling feasibility.
- Collaborate with supporting departments to confirm capabilities and forecast laboratory capacity.
- Assist in training Scheduler I team members and provide mentorship as needed.
- Identify, initiate, and lead process improvement projects to enhance scheduling efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications of the Scheduler/Study Coordinator II Include:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3-4 years of experience in a scientific environment, including at least 1 year of scheduling experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and resolve complex issues.
- Understanding of operational procedures in a preclinical or laboratory setting.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a scientific or related discipline.
- Knowledge of GLPs and federal regulations related to laboratory animal care.
- Familiarity with study design, protocols, and laboratory operations.
- Experience with animal ordering and procurement processes.
Compensation of the Scheduler/Study Coordinator II Includes:
- Salary Range: $26.00 - $40.00/hour based on experience
