State Street Investment Management (SSIM) is seeking a motivated Contract Analyst with institutional client or legal experience, who can excel in a fast-paced environment while working cohesively with their core team. Are you that person?
As a Contract Analyst within SSIM Client Coverage Group, you will:
- Accurately draft, manage and proactively lead the entire contracting process for all client agreements
- Clearly communicate any contractual documentation changes and ensure their comments are fully reflected in the contract and requisite approvals are obtained
- Ensure that the established contracting process is followed using the workflow tool for all contract production to mitigate risk
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal partners throughout the pre, mid and post contracting stages
- Monitor the Team mailbox and ad-hoc queries management
- Take ownership of deliverables to ensure service excellence.
- Actively participate in research initiatives or projects that are requested by the business team, related to the contracting process
- Look for continuous improvements, enhancing procedures and implementing them
To be successful, you will need to develop an understanding of SSIM investment and operational capabilities, service offerings, culture and vision in order to efficiently lead each stage of a contract's progression, from drafting a sample through negotiation and delivery of the final contract package. Due to complex and continually evolving client relationships and goals, the most successful Contract Analyst is agile and able to develop collaborative relationships across our sales, legal, operations, compliance, investment, product, billing and other internal teams to achieve deadlines while developing a comprehensive working knowledge of the business and industry. You will also partner with your colleagues in other regions to ensure global consistency in our processes and to continuously improve the overall experience our clients have in working with SSIM.
This role is part of the Client Coverage Group and you will report to the Head of North America Client Onboarding and Contracting.

Experience and skills to help you succeed in this role:
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in the investment management industry, working with institutional clients is preferred and a legal background is a benefit
- Ownership of the client contracting lifecycle, focusing on delivering a positive experience by meeting and exceeding expectations
- Proficiency in navigating complex client relationships
- Comprehension of SSIM capabilities and services to successfully complete contracts in a timely manner
- Demonstrated analytical skills so as to provide thoughtful approaches to tasks
- The ability to lead, prioritize and execute independently on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- A natural inclination to form and cultivate positive relationships with internal partners to encourage collaboration and positive contract outcomes
- Outstanding attention to detail, extremely accurate and well organized
- The ability to thrive in a highly regulated environment that demands full compliance with policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
