The Mechanical Technician performs preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This position is primarily located at the Roberts Ranch Gas Plant, but will also respond to maintenance calls at other facilities in the area.

Responsibilities May Include:

Performing maintenance and repairs on engines, compressors and associated components, such as compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems (auxiliary).

Performs overhaul of compressors and engines\engine swings, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup.

Ensuring the safe, effective and efficient performance of maintenance and operation activities in accordance with Company standards and regulatory guidelines

Complying with company policies, procedures and directives

Performing work on air pollution control equipment

Performing required preventive and corrective maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations

Identifying maintenance work and initiating work requests

Driving a company owned vehicle within assigned area

Ability to diagnose mechanical problems

Ability to provides Quality Assurance\Quality Control over 3rd Party contractors performing major maintenance

Maintain all required operations and safety training including required Operator Qualifications for DOT covered tasks

Required Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

High School Diploma/GED equivalent

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must maintain a valid driver's license

Must live/relocate within 45 miles of reporting location

Willing and able to work a rotating call-out schedule

Willing and able perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:

Climb various ladders and stairs ranging 5 to 20 feet in height on platforms and catwalks to perform maintenance on equipment as part of this position

Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds

Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds

Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain

Work outside in harsh weather conditions

Work alone a high percentage of the time

Work scheduled or unscheduled overtime on an as-needed basis

Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as steel-toe shoes and ear and eye protection

Preferred Qualifications:

3 or more years maintenance/mechanical experience in oil and gas or related industry

Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, and available maintenance programs

A sound knowledge of code requirements, including OSHA, Process Safet

Midstream

The Phillips 66 Midstream business is a safe, reliable, and trusted provider for the movement, storage, gathering, and processing of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 70,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. Our capabilities include extensive natural gas gathering and processing operations, enhancing our wellhead-to-market strategy. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
