Security Clearance: None/Not Required The Avionics Product Integrity Reliability, Maintainability and Safety (RMS) Engineering group is seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Project Engineer to lead a team of RMS engineers performing civil safety assessments in accordance with ARP4761 or military assessments in accordance with MIL-STD-882E. This position is based in Melbourne, Florida but working remotely may be an option for the individual. Things You Will Do: Successfully manages the cost, schedule, scope, technical debt, and customer satisfaction of a subset of small to medium RMS projects within a portfolio. Contributes to bids for well-defined work identifying risks and opportunities resulting in execution with limited variance between estimates and actual costs. Able to manage their projects and team autonomously with some mentoring. Contributes to departmental goals through successful execution of assigned projects. Projects are strategically assigned to allow for technical initiatives and engineering talent development. Ensures consistency across RMS by following established best practices, participating in CORE improvement activities, and drive actions from retrospectives. Communicates project status, dependencies, risks, & opportunities with peers across the SBU and leadership within the RMS department. Able to manage their projects and team autonomously with some mentoring. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information for military programs/contracts. Proficient at project management fundamentals. Proficient understanding of Reliability, Maintainability and Safety (RMS) tasks and their associated dependencies, risks, and opportunities. Proficient understanding of the impact of RMS tasks on internal and external customers. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
