Job Title: Mechanical General Foreman

Overview:

The Mechanical General Foreman plays a pivotal role in overseeing all mechanical construction activities on a project site. Responsible for managing a team of skilled tradespeople, this position ensures that mechanical systems are installed, maintained, and repaired efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and supervise a team of mechanical technicians, pipefitters, welders, and millwrights.

- Assign tasks, provide direction, and ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and within project timelines.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to enhance team skills and productivity.

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to plan and execute mechanical construction activities.

- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of mechanical work.

- Monitor progress and adjust resource allocation as necessary to meet project milestones.

- Ensure that all mechanical installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations.

- Conduct inspections and tests to verify the integrity and functionality of mechanical systems and components.

- Address any deficiencies or non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions to maintain quality.

- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.

- Maintain accurate records of work activities, including work orders, daily progress reports, and inspection logs.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in mechanical construction or maintenance, with at least 8 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including piping, HVAC, boilers, and rotating machinery.

- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as ASME, ANSI, and OSHA.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.

- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
