Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking self-motivated, safety and success-orientated Assistant Project Managers throughout the United States to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Plan and manage all aspects of large Heavy Civil/Transit projects.
- Drive our Safety without Compromise culture
- Manage Labor Harmony in Union, Open Shop, Merit Shop environment.
- Develop and manage the construction schedule.
- Independently coordinate work of Construction Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents throughout entire project life cycle.
- Establish and maintain client/stakeholder relations and be involved with contractual, design and production meetings.
- Participate in budget and estimate reviews.
- Conduct work sessions for design development and contract documents in conjunction with entire staff.
- Coordinate workload throughout preconstruction and construction activities.
- Track financial aspect of projects and coordinate and adjust resources with team to ensure that work is completed within the budget and schedule.
- Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager to develop project reviews and with Executive management as needed.
- Preparation and review of Owner, Contractor, Subcontractor, and consultant payment application.
- Preparation and review of contracts and subcontracts.
- Mentor and support continued development of staff
- Reports directly to CEO and Senior Vice President of National Construction
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.

Qualifications:
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent, preferred
- 7 to 10 years’ experience/knowledge of Heavy Civil and Transportation Construction, design, finance, and management.
- Varying levels of experience in project scope may determine Project Management level, such as:
- In excess of $50 million project experience
- $250-$500 million project experience
- $500 million and above project experience
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc.
- Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
- Significant business skills
- Highly organized with strong ability to multitask
- An attitude of commitment to being an active participant of the Herzog Culture.
- Ability to confidently make decisions and recommendations that will significantly impact profitability of assigned project
- Ability to individually rule significant judgements on assessments/situations.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.

- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
