A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Indianapolis, IN area. This is a senior-level position for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and oversight of complex electrical systems for manufacturing and pharmaceutical facilities in Indianapolis, while also mentoring junior staff and interacting directly with clients.

responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design for various systems (power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, etc.).
- Oversee and review work of designers.
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor for less experienced staff.
- Interact with clients, owners, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and design electrical systems to meet project goals.
- Perform engineering calculations and evaluations.
- Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and customer requirements (e.g., NFPA 70).
- Maintain effective communication with team members and clients.
- Utilize engineering and design software (CAD, BIM).
- Prepare technical specifications and documents.
- Act as the electrical discipline lead or Quality Control reviewer.
- Contribute to project proposals and offer innovative solutions.
- strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- Ability to perform power system studies (short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, arc flash).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to devise new approaches to problems.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in building electrical engineering design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana or the ability to obtain it.
