Responsibilities

The Kodak Rochester Facilities (KRF) group is responsible for the management of buildings and site services, contract and supplier management, fire department, inspections, risk management, several supporting operational services, and support of the Eastman Business Park growth and strategic initiatives.

The individual in this job performs a variety of activities designed to service, repair, maintain, and execute building and site related improvements. This experienced General Service Mechanic uses independent judgment in making decisions without the immediate direction of supervision.
The General Service Mechanic supports Eastman Kodak Company and its tenants by performing routine building maintenance, repairs and building upgrades (restrooms, offices, tenant space, common space) in all Kodak Rochester locations and in support of the Eastman Business Park Master Plan.

Responsibilities:
Building/Site Maintenance and Improvements
Restroom, office and common space upgrades and/or repairs including carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical work, fixture repair/installation, and drywall repair, etc.
Coordinate and perform clean-out and preparation of unoccupied building spaces
Work with contracted service providers to oversee jobs, address escalations and facilitate their mobilization and demobilization.
Basic carpentry:
o Frame and drywall installation
o Repair/replace door frames
o Installation of suspended ceilings, ceiling tiles
o Minor floor tile repair
o Hanging of blinds, bulletin boards, pictures, restroom fixtures
o Secure file cabinets, shelving
o install/relocate/remove office partitions
o Install/remove keyboard trays and misc. furniture repairs/adjustments).
o Inspection, maintenance and repair of pedestrian and overhead/sliding doors

Basic plumbing
o Repair/remove/replace restroom fixtures
o Work with external service providers to coordinate and oversee larger jobs.
o Work with KRF Master Plumber to estimate/coordinate jobs

Basic Electrical
o Replacement of light fixture ballasts (Kodak Office Site)
o Work with external service providers to coordinate and oversee larger jobs.
o Remove/replace lights, switches, outlets
o Repair/replace emergency/exit lights
o Work with KRF licensed Electricians to estimate/coordinate jobs
o Certified Electrician, as required per door application

Ordering required supplies through group leaders/zone admin as required
Coordinate and execute office moves within the building, personal boxes, file cabinets. Work with external service providers to coordinate larger moves.
Proper waste management disposal methods for building and construction materials.
Assist team members with emergency clean-up (water, etc.) as requested.
Provide back-up support for the General Service Porter

Miscellaneous Critical Responsibilities

Provide back-up support for the General Service Porter and assist Porter on jobs too large for one person.
Familiarity with Fire Extinguisher inspections, emergency/exit light inspections, escalations and record keeping activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge and abilities associated with:
o Demolition
o Remodeling
o Door and window installation
o Tile and trim work
o Painting and Finishing
o Plumbing within the scope of personal licenses/certifications
o Electrical work within the scope of personal licenses/certifications
Work with prints, layout drawings and verbal instructions from supervisors.
Ability to estimate jobs
Knowledge of safety issues in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of electrical lighting fixtures.
Knowledge of required permits (e.g. electrical and plumbing) to ensure all installations meet applicable codes.
Skill in the use of scissor lifts, fork trucks, stackers, pallet jack, and ladders required.

Personal attributes
Excellent customer service skills required, daily interface with both internal Kodak and external tenant needs.
Understands concepts of lean manufacturing to drive improvement in day-to-day work.
A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in interactions with building occupants, contractors and team members.
Experienced with safe work practices/requirements and ensuring compliance.

Physical Requirements
Regularly lift and or move up to 25lbs/12kg.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg.
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit, bend, and talk and hear.
Heights; work on a step ladder or extended man lifts.
Work may require employees to be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
Some Repetitive work: use of hand tools

Education Required:
High School diploma or GED
3 years equivalent experience in a related field in an industrial/manufacturing environment
