Job Title: Quality Control Engineer

Salary: C ompetitive compensation package based on experience.

Overview: The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring quality control procedures on construction sites to ensure that all materials, workmanship, and processes meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. This position reports to and collaborates closely with the Quality Control Manager to deliver a safe and high-quality finished product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform inspections of construction activities and materials to verify compliance with contract documents, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor surface preparation, concrete testing data, formwork, reinforcing steel, water stops, curing operations, and finish quality.
  • Review installation plans, material certifications, and submittals for conformance with approved project documents.
  • Prepare and maintain daily inspection and quality reports, ensuring accurate documentation of all field activities.
  • Report and track deficiencies, coordinating with the Quality Control Manager, contractors, and project teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to identify and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assist in quality-related meetings and training sessions to reinforce standards and expectations.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of materials to prevent damage or contamination.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification, or ten (10) years of equivalent construction quality experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong skills in daily report writing and documentation.
  • Experience with water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant projects is a plus.
  • Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to move freely about a construction site with demanding terrain, including climbing ladders and stair towers, uneven and wet surfaces, and slopes.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
