Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Salary: C ompetitive compensation package based on experience.
Overview: The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for actively monitoring and verifying that all aspects of construction work adhere to established quality standards, project specifications, and building codes. This includes conducting on-site inspections of materials, workmanship, and construction processes, identifying any deviations, and reporting issues to ensure the project is completed with the highest quality standards throughout its lifecycle. This position reports to, collaborates with, and follows the direction of the Quality Control Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site inspections during construction and final phases to ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications.
- Inspect construction activities and materials, including surface preparation, concrete testing data, formwork, reinforcing bar, misc. metals, water stops, concrete finish, and curing operations.
- Review installation plans, material submittals, and certifications to confirm adherence to project requirements.
- Prepare accurate daily field inspection and quality reports using Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets, and BlueBeam.
- Identify deficiencies, document findings, and report issues promptly to the Quality Control Manager and Operations teams.
- Monitor construction processes to verify compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to address and resolve quality concerns.
- Support quality-related meetings and training sessions to reinforce compliance and expectations.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- ACI Special Inspector certification or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil works construction.
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Bluebeam.
- Strong daily report writing and documentation skills.
- Prior experience with water treatment plant and/or wastewater treatment plant projects is a plus.
- Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to move freely about a construction site, including climbing ladders and stair towers, navigating uneven or wet terrain, and working on slopes.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and communicate clearly both in person and by telephone.
