Job Title: Assistant Quality Control Manager

Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) in overseeing quality control activities on-site during all phases of construction.
  • Support management of quality control staff, including engineers, inspectors, and subcontracted testing personnel.
  • Aid in implementing and maintaining the Construction Quality Control Program, with delegated authority to act in quality matters as directed by the CQCM.
  • Participate in regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the management of project documentation, including material submittals, shop drawings, schedules, and records.
  • Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and prepare daily quality reports.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Participate in the three phases of control (Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up) for each definable feature of work, under the direction of the CQCM.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving non-conformance issues and tracking corrective actions.
  • Support training sessions and quality meetings for the project team.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or contamination.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Previous quality control experience on construction projects required; Assistant Quality Control Manager experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction experience, preferably with exposure to large-scale projects such as civil works, water treatment plants, or wastewater treatment facilities.
  • OSHA 30-hour training certification required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong skills in daily report writing and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to move freely about a construction site with uneven terrain, including climbing ladders and stair towers, working on wet surfaces, and navigating slopes.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.
