Civil Estimator Construction

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.

• Perform accurate quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, and other civil construction scopes.

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

• Analyze historical data, unit costs, and production rates to develop accurate estimates.

• Assist with bid strategy, proposal preparation, and presentation.

• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure seamless project handoffs.

• Stay current on market trends, labor, and material costs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil estimating (earthwork, sitework, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy construction).

• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and industry standards.

• Proficiency with estimating software (such as HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, or similar).

• Advanced skills in MS Excel and ability to work with digital take-off tools.

• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Valid Drivers License.
