Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary:

The Operations & Maintenance Technician will perform duties and tasks listed herein in full support of the facilities department as well as other departments on campus to support our students, staff, and faculty. Selected candidate performs a full variety of tasks in support of maintenance, repair, and improvement work in a variety of structures. Works on cooperative projects with other skill-related personnel.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Perform general maintenance tasks that include, but are not limited to: general carpentry, general plumbing, general electrical, HVAC diagnosis and repairs.
2. Perform corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance in a variety of applications.
3. Perform corrective measures to work orders that are assigned.
4. Identify issues and potential issues, resolve and/or report issues
5. Prioritize work making sure major and life safety issues take priority.
6. Ability to handle reactive maintenance as well as preventative maintenance.
7. Must be able to work in a team setting as well as an individual setting.
8. Monitor or inspect work of contractors on specialized work; report problems to supervisor.
9. Maintain records on maintenance performed, material procured, and inventories held as part of the work order process.
10. Maintain equipment and work area; must maintain a clean work environment.
11. Perform work following the standard department and trade safety procedures.
12. Assist in snow removal.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
