Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors Degree in architecture and two (2) years of architecture experience.

Proficiency in design programs (e.g. AutoCAD). Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies. Ability to present information and respond accurately and concisely to inquiries. Ability to clarify project objectives, goals, and the roles and responsibilities of participants; ability to organize and manage resources; strong team player.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in the day-to-day management of a project and scope. Works to identify project objectives and goals. Maintains project schedules and budgets for assigned projects.
  • Prepares design and pricing documents for projects, including healthcare, academic, research, and administrative support facilities.
  • Manage outside teams to ensure work is performed following UMMC standards.
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment; support Senior Architect in maintaining space program.
  • Assist construction project managers and PDC team members in delivering a project.
  • Interfaces with relevant parties to resolve problems and maintain progress; informs management of key activities and makes periodic progress reports.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional travelling to offsite locations, constant bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
