ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting a full-time Laborer for our new project in Texas City, TX.
New hires must train in Port Arthur for a few weeks before the Texas City project starts, and the project lasts 18 months.
The Laborer position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, equipment operation, grounds, and housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain the ready mix plant, buildings, grounds, and equipment managed by regional business entities.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
Clean up and housekeeping duties as assigned for the plant.
Perform inspections and checklists on work areas.
Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
Operate and drive the company van or truck with employees or parts/supplies to multiple locations in the area.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 1- 2 years of general experience related to duties and responsibilities
Ability to work in a team-based environment and excellent mechanical knowledge, ability to weld, and experience working in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of company processes and procedures
Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Able to prioritize work
Must have a Valid drivers license
Required to work outside, at heights, in warm temperatures, in dusty environments, and in confined spaces.
Position may include changing schedules or rotating shifts as necessary
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
