Position Overview

As a Senior Surveyor for Kiewit, you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining safe, accurate, and efficient survey field operations across major infrastructure projects in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. You will be responsible for leading field survey activities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and supporting design model implementation.

The majority of your time will be spent in the field, performing and overseeing survey operations to ensure precision and quality.Your work directly supports strategic initiatives that include the expansion of AI data centers, the development of large-scale energy facilities, and the enhancement of community resilience. These efforts are driven by close collaboration between our Infrastructure and Power groups, with a shared focus on utility infrastructure development.

Your expertise ensures that survey operations are executed with accuracy and efficiency, contributing to the successful delivery of reliable, future-ready infrastructure across the South Central region.

District Overview

Kiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Responsibilities

Implementing the project survey plan specific to field operations.

Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures and survey audits to ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and professional manner.

Maintain accurate and legible field notes.

Setting and maintenance of control network.

Performing layout

Qualifications

5+ years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required

Trimble experience is a plus

Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage)

Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams

Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team

Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time
